1. Ice Breaker Each attendee spoke with 9 different guild members using sewing/quilting related questions that Programming provided.

2. Programming (Kaitlin Delano + Jess Peck, programming@vtmqg.com )

a. Tip of the Month – People who attended VQF shared lots of great information from classes, vendor purchases, and judges’ comments. Thanks for sharing with everyone.
b. BOM – Participants shared the Pantheon Block that they made (9th month). July is the 10th month for BOM. Participant of the BOM will prepare a block called the Moais Block.
c. Art Hop Reminder- Kaitlin announced that she has arranged for guild members to exhibit up to 20 quilts (twin or smaller) in the Burlington Art Hop show and encourage members to sign up to exhibit. The exhibit will take place Friday September 6 through Sunday Sept 8. Quilts should be given to Kaitlin at the August Guild meeting are by making an arrangement with Kaitlin. Subsequent to this meeting, Kaitlin D emailed members with information and a sign-up form.
d. Workshop Reminder, Sunday August 1, 12:30 – 3 PM, after the August monthly Guild Meeting at the Common School in South Burlington. Rachael A. will be teaching a zipper pouch workshop, using cork and washable paper. Rachael provided information about the workshop and invited members to sign up. Subsequent to this meeting, Kaitlin D. emailed members providing workshop details and sign up information.

3. Fall Retreats Update (Anya Byam, retreat@vtmqg.com)
Anya announced that the fall retreat (Friday October 18 through Monday October 21) at Rock Point Center only has a few open slots. Subsequent to this meeting there is only one slot and has been opened to guests of the guild as well. If you have any questions, contact Anya.

4. Community Quilts (Ann Shapiro)
Quick reminder to bring any community quilt donations to the August meeting or arrange a time to give them to Ann S. This includes any tops that need a back.

5. Other Business (Laura Cristelli)
a. The Secretaries have a new duty – The Guild’s mission is to encourage and inspire the growth and development of modern quilting through art, education, and community in Vermont and beyond. In addition to this mission, we are a caring community that supports each other. If you know of a Guild member that has a special occasion or celebration or may be facing one of life’s more challenging times, please email: secretary@vtmqg so we can send a special greeting.
b. Personal Destash Reminder – Laura shared information from her destash sale last month. Anyone is interested in doing it next month or subsequent months should contact Laura.
c. VTMQG Library Reminder – Be sure to look at books that are available for loan. The new edition of Curated Quilts will be available soon.
d. 2019 Food and Drink – Folks are needed to bring snack and/or coffee for the monthly meetings, August on. There is a sign-up sheet available at Google Docs VTMQG Shared Folder (members only) or sign up on the sheet at the monthly meeting.
e. Freebie Table Reminder – Remember if you bring something, please make sure it either goes home with someone else or goes back home with you.
f. Newsletter – Send any interesting links/ideas/etc. to newsletter@vtmqg.com
g. Trunk Show Sign Up- Members are encouraged to sign up to present a trunk show at a monthly guild meeting, August on. There is a sign-up sheet at Google Docs VTMQG Shared Folder (members only).
h. Birthdays – Crystal H. (7/2), Jess L. (7/9), Patty B. (7/20)
i. Kudos for:
i. The entire crew that helped put on another amazing Vermont Quilt Festival including the following VQF board members and staff: Kaitlin D, Marty D, Rachael A, Trista R.
ii. To all members who had a quilt hanging at VQF.
iii. To all members who helped create our QuiltCon Challenge Quilt which won a yellow ribbon at VQF!
iv. Colleen is engaged!
j. Name Tag/Door prize drawing – This month’s winner was Terri Swallow, who won a charm pack and a quilters planner.
6. Show N’ Tell- Attendees shared their recent projects pointing out modern and/or traditional techniques used. What a talented, productive, skilled, creative modern quilt group!
