VTMQG Workshop: Cork and Washable Paper Zippered Pouches
Sunday, August 11th, 2019
12:30pm – 3:00pm
______________________________________________
– Class size: 12 students
– Cost: $15 members, $25 non-members
– Location: Vermont Commons School, 75 Green Mountain Dr., South Burlington

– About the Workshop: Spend an afternoon with VTMQG’s Rachael Arnold, discovering new sewing mediums – washable paper and cork! In completing this useful zippered-pouch project, you will receive all the tips and tricks on how to work with these malleable, washable fabrics. Attendees will master zip pouch zipper installation and have the opportunity to explore fastening rivets. Find your favorite new sewing medium to elevate future projects!

– About the Instructor: A childhood garment maker–turned adult quilter–turned sewer of #allthethings, Rachael’s current sewing obsession is trying out new kinds of fabric and hardware. She believes strongly in sharing things she’s passionate about in order to inspire other makers, and has taught workshops on things as varied as desktop publishing and design; sewing and crafting; and website coding and blogging over the past 15 years. When she’s not sewing, you’ll find her crafting software code to pay the bills, helping her husband get their dog to pose for Instagram photos, or reading a book (mostly trashy urban fantasy).
